SHORE POWER AND FERRY CHARGING SOLUTIONS

Flexible solutions for port and ships

Ferry charging

A ferry charging solution provides the required power in a convenient, stationary OPS solution that can be specified to deliver the required voltage and can be delivered to suit any vessel size. Connecting and disconnecting the charging cables is faster and more convenient with a charging tower.

Shore power

The Shore Power™ OPS is ideal for minor ports, or for port OPS applications where flexibility and ease of deployment are paramount. The system consists of flexible containers that can be placed as needed and connected to the grid and vessels. The container can be customised to your requirements and is designed for a port environment.
With a wide range of input and output voltages and power ratings, the Shore Power™ solution can be tailored to most OPS applications.

  • Input voltage: 400 V to 11 kV
  • Output voltage: 400-690 V, 50/60 Hz
  • Output power and dimensions are specified according to your application.

Shore power™

Our Shore Power™ containerised OPS can be specified to deliver the voltage required for even large vessels. The built-in flexibility of the solution makes it ideal for minor ports or ports where flexibility and ease of deployment are paramount.

Removing or eliminating emissions
OPS solutions allow vessels to shut down their diesel engines while in port, running onboard equipment or charging onboard batteries on power supplied from land-based power sources instead (such as the power grid or local wind turbines). With an OPS solution, emissions are removed from ports, drastically improving air quality and working environment for port staff and nearby residents. If the OPS solution runs on power from sustainable sources, emissions can be eliminated altogether.
Shore Power is part of our complete marine electrification offering which also includes our Eship for turnkey retrofit electrification solutions.

There is increased focus on the green transition, and the overall emission reduction target is 70 % by 2030. It is not possible to reach this target all at once, but we can introduce a number of activities and initiatives. SH Group already contributes by converting vessels to battery operation and has also introduced other initiatives to optimise operations onboard and reduce climate impact.
